Before Going further Have you got your State board confirmation from Simandhar Education Evaluations Team?

Note: This will not be applicable for WES Evaluation Agency

What are Transcripts?

Transcripts are attested copies of your academic and/or professional documents. For evaluation purposes, they must be:

  • Xerox copies (photocopies) of your original mark sheets and Degree certificates attested from your University Examination Controller shall be in a School Sealed envelope

  • Stamped and signed by the issuing university.

  • Provided in a school-sealed envelope with the university's stamp and signature across the seal.

What is a School-Sealed Envelope?

A "School-Sealed Envelope" is an envelope provided by your university. It contains your official transcripts and is formally signed, stamped, and sealed by the university across the flap of the envelope. This seal signifies the authenticity of the documents inside and that they have not been tampered with since leaving the institution.

Number of Transcript Sets Suggested to Apply: 3 Sets

It is highly recommended to apply for two sets of transcripts for the following reasons:

  1. 1st Set: For opening, checking, and reviewing by the Simandhar Education Team to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  2. 2nd Set: To be sent directly to the evaluation agency (e.g.,, NASBA-approved evaluator) for credential evaluation.

What Could Go Wrong? (Common Mistakes to Avoid)

  • Missing Documents: Submitting an application with an incomplete checklist of required documents (e.g., missing a mark sheet, not providing a syllabus when needed).

  • Incomplete Application: Forgetting to fill out certain parts of the application form or missing required signatures.

  • Opened School-Sealed Envelope: Opening, tearing, or damaging the school-sealed envelope containing transcripts that are meant for the evaluation agency. This will render the documents invalid.

  • Applying Only a Single Set: Limiting yourself to just one set of transcripts, which leaves no backup if one is lost, damaged, or reviewed by your advising team.

  • Using Provisional Certificate Incorrectly: Applying with a Provisional Certificate when your degree was conferred more than 2 years ago (in which case the official Degree Certificate is mandatory).

Best Practices for Transcripts:

  • Apply for Multiple Sets: Always apply for multiple sets of transcripts (ideally 2 as suggested) to save time and avoid future inconvenience.

  • DO NOT Open School-Sealed Envelopes: The transcripts that you intend to send to the evaluation agency MUST remain in their original, unopened, university-sealed envelopes. Any opened, torn, or damaged school-sealed envelope will be considered an invalid document by evaluation agencies.

  • Follow Document Checklist Meticulously: Always adhere strictly to the checklist of required documents. Do not miss or skip any document, as this will lead to an incorrect or delayed evaluation report. You can always verify your checklist with the Simandhar Education team.

  • Use Degree Certificate (When Applicable): Always apply for your Degree Certificate/Convocation Certificate with a photocopy of the original Degree certificate. Applying with a Provisional Certificate is generally considered invalid if you qualified for that educational qualification more than 2 years ago.

  • Degree Attestation: Based on your university, you may need to apply for degree attestation separately. The Simandhar Education team will notify you and assist you with the complete process specific to your university.
