responsibilities to maintain your active status with the IRS. These include:
Renew
Your Enrolled Agent Status Every Three Years:
Obtain
Continuing Education (CE):
Enrolled
Agents are required to complete a specific number of continuing education
(CE) hours.
You
must complete a minimum of 16 hours of CE each year, with a total
of 72 hours over each three-year enrollment cycle.
At
least 2 hours of ethics education must be completed during each
enrollment year.
Renew
Your PTIN Annually:
Failing to meet these
requirements can lead to the suspension or inactivation of your Enrolled Agent
status.
